“We never imagined the outcome to be so positive with the added benefits of staff morale, energy and accuracy. Overall, it’s been a magical transformation. Amazing what a piece of belt can achieve!” – Hatish Patel (Director)

As part of CDL’s continued strategy of investment to drive future growth and customer service, we were asked to make a recommendation to further improve the packing process.
We recommended a main belt conveyor, running centrally between a number of packing stations, where operatives would be able to collate picked orders, prior to organising them for delivery.
Items packed and labelled, would then be placed on the belt conveyor, where they can travel to an gravity roller conveyor accumulation zone, to be further sorted for delivery via various carriers.
We recommended the KCT 138 Flat belt conveyor at a width of 834mm to effectively handle the weight and dimensions of packed items. For the accumulation area, we utilised the KCT 3 (PVC) Gravity Roller Conveyor straight and curve to fit within the packing area.
CDL requested that the lead time of the conveyors would co-inside with some further improvements they were making on the site, KBR worked to make sure that all agreed deadlines work strictly adhered to.
Once the installation had been completed and after an initial period of high productivity, CDL reported a vast improvement in overall productivity, a reduction in output costs with a marked improvement over double handling of products.
