Powered Chain Driven Roller Conveyors Supplied for Painting Process
Kortec are a UK based company, providing truly efficient coating processes to increase their customers productivity, profitability and performance.
They had a requirement for three conveyor modules to facilitate the loading and unloading process of panels, for a sprayer and drier units.
The timing of the spray operation is determined by the panels crossing a line of sensors which detect the leading edge, sides and trailing edge of the panel. It is therefore critical that the machine should feature an in-feed table with accurate variable speed control to match the machines conveyor speed.
For the conveyors in-feed, we opted for a driven chain roller conveyor, with a useable width of 1250mm to handle the large panel sizes. It was important to the customer that the panels should be protected as they travelled over the rollers. To ensure this all conveyor rollers supplied featured 5mm PVC roller sleeves.
Given the nature of the application, it was also important that all moving components of the conveyor would be protected from the chemicals used within the spray process. The chain conveyor provided feature full containment of moving mechanical parts as standard, preventing the ingress materials unnecessarily wearing parts.
For the machines drying tunnel, the customer required a simpler approach. By utilising a gravity roller table to support panels letting them accumulate and dry. Again, the gravity conveyor were built using a heavy duty construction, with the same PVC covered rollers to protect the finished panels.
The final set up requiring the use of only one operator to effectively control the full process.
