Custom Ball Transfer Conveyors

Ball transfer conveyors are perfect for smooth multi-directional movement of packages, making them an excellent choice for various flat-based products such as trays, totes, boxes, heavy steel tooling, and sheet metal parts. Additionally, you can choose from an inserted ball pan that fits into our standard gravity sections or a single stand-alone ball table.

Moreover, we customise our ball transfers for each application, offering versions in Nylon, Stainless Steel, or Zinc Plated with diverse load ratings. Furthermore, we provide two standard fitment types to cover most applications: fixed (riveted) or 'push-fit' with a retaining spring clip.

Design and Configuration

Ball transfer tables offer true omnidirectional movement, allowing products to shift left-to-right, up-and-down, and diagonally with a full 360-degree rotation. Consequently, this capability enables operators to rotate heavy items effortlessly and perform secondary processes, thereby improving workflow at workstations. These systems consist of small, spherical balls housed within individual transfer units. We strategically position the units on a frame or table-like structure, creating a surface with evenly spaced ball transfers. Made from durable materials like steel, these balls rotate freely in any direction, facilitating smooth and efficient product movement. Additionally, the robust construction ensures longevity and reliability even under heavy loads.

Depending on the application's duty, we craft our ball conveyors with various sheet metal types for the pan's surface. We weld steel ribs to the pan's undersides, ensuring a rigid and flat surface for your product. Moreover, we fold and seam weld all our pans on four sides. For larger units, we add additional return folds to maintain structure, longevity, and overall quality. Furthermore, you can customise your ball table with laser-cut patterns such as square, diamond, or elongated ball pitch. The recommended ball centres or pitch are typically 3.5 times the product size for effective and smooth item transfer. Therefore, we'll discuss and recommend the best option based on your product from the outset.

Applications and Efficiency

Ball transfer tables are indispensable in manufacturing, distribution, and logistics industries. Their omnidirectional movement makes them ideal for workstations, assembly lines, and packaging areas, where rotating or shifting items during manufacturing or sorting processes is crucial. They excel in loading and unloading trucks or containers and transferring products between different conveyor systems or workstations. In warehouses, these tables enhance the efficiency of material flow, thus reducing handling time and improving overall logistics operations. Additionally, their adaptability makes them suitable for a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, and electronics. We prioritise efficiency in our design process by planning sections in the most economical ball pattern. This not only enhances the functionality of the ball transfer conveyors but also contributes to the overall efficiency of your material handling operations, ensuring smooth and effective movement of goods.

Robust and Customised Solutions

We emphasise our commitment to durability through the fit and welding of custom reinforcing to each pan. This meticulous construction guarantees a robust and long-lasting solution, capable of withstanding the rigours of diverse material handling environments. Additionally, all our ball transfers feature four-side and return folded sections, meticulously crafted through specially laser-cutting and folding processes. Moreover, we individually craft and tailor our ball conveyors to specific requirements for optimal functionality, ensuring they meet the unique needs of your operations. Furthermore, we offer a 12-month warranty on our conveyors, providing assurance of their reliability and delivering long-lasting value to your business.

Support and Services

Our dedicated experts provide detailed drawings for customer approval, ensuring precision in every aspect of the conveyor design, resulting in high-quality, customised solutions. Additionally, we supply the conveyors fully assembled, ensuring convenience for our clients and allowing for immediate implementation upon delivery. For larger projects, we offer an installation service to guarantee a seamless setup process, ensuring your new conveyor systems are up and running efficiently from the start.
